Hillwood is ranked #3 by Trip Advisor for places to visit in DC, following closely behind the distinguished Smithsonian Institute and National Gallery of Art.

What is Hillwood Museum, Estate, & Gardens?

Marjorie Merriweather Post bought Hillwood in 1955 and soon decided her home would be a museum that would inspire and educate the public. When she left her northwest Washington, D.C. estate, she endowed the country with the most comprehensive collection of Russian imperial art outside of Russia, a distinguished 18th-century French decorative art collection, and twenty-five acres of serene landscaped gardens and natural woodlands for all to enjoy. Opened as a public institution in 1977, today Hillwood's allure stems from the equally fascinating parts that make up the whole. From the captivating life of Marjorie Post to the exquisitely maintained Mansion and Gardens, the experience of Hillwood outshines even the Fabergé Eggs.

GIFT IDEA!! Semper Fi Fund Cookbook

GIFT IDEA!! Semper Fi Fund Cookbook
Our very own member, Gladys Rodriguez, originally from Cuba, wanted to give back to her adopted country by supporting our wounded Marines through the Semper Fi Fund. The second cookbook, Recipes from Across the World, was published in 2014 and is a great gift idea for friends, family, teachers or anyone else! Each cookbook costs $10 and will be available at MASC's November and December luncheons. To date, over $70,000 has been raised (including funds matched by GoDaddy.com). This cookbook would not have been possible without the valuable help of countless Marines’ family members and supporters including MASC members Paula Rybka, Carol Kuginski, Emily Sanborn and Gladys.
